2023 Senior Men & Women Tryout
We host the tryout for the USA Senior Men & Women Wrestling team at Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf on June 10-14, 2023. The tryout is for the World Deaf Wrestling Championship (WDWC) at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on September 2-12, 2023.

World Deaf Wrestling Championship 2023
International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) announced the World Deaf Wrestling Championship will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on September 2-12, 2023. It is for Cadet, Junior, and Senior divisions with Freestyle and Greco-Roman styles. It is the first time to add the women team!

2021 Summer Deaflympics – Caxias Do Sul, Brazil
The 24th Summer Deaflympics was supposed to be held in Summer 2021, but it was postponed to Summer 2022 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Ten wrestlers went to Caxias Do Sul, Brazil with Head Coach John Dolezal and Assistant Coach Donny Longendyke on March 1-15, 2022.
Ashten Johson won bronze for Greco-Roman 87 kg. Amaree McKenstry won bronze for Greco-Roman 97 kg.
There were 19 country teams that participated. (Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Cuba, Greece, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Portugal, Turkey, Ukraine, United States, Venezuela)
